ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE
The Academic Evaluation Commission (AEC) is established to advise the Rectorate on the evaluation of the competencies of candidates for academic appointments and promotions. ADEK makes its evaluations in accordance with the “Regulation on Promotion and Appointment to Faculty Membership in Higher Education Institutions of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” and “Cyprus Aydin University Academic Evaluation Directive” and other relevant legislation provisions.
The Academic Evaluation Commission (AEC) consists of 6 (six) University professors appointed for 3 (three) years with the recommendation of the University Executive Board and the approval of the Senate, and the Vice Rector who will also serve as the chairman of the Commission. For a vacant membership, a new member is appointed by the same method and to complete the normal term of the departed member.
Decisions are taken by the majority of the total number of members.
‘Academic Evaluation Criteria’ to be used as a basis for the promotion and appointment of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors are prepared by ADEK and submitted to the University Senate for approval.
