The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Cyprus Aydın University aims to produce innovations that contribute to society across a wide range of fields, from product design to system development, and from production to maintenance and supervision, at the intersection of engineering science and technological applications.

The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Cyprus Aydın University aims to educate highly qualified engineers and architects who are committed to ethical values and possess strong professional competence, in line with a contemporary educational approach.
The theoretical courses offered at our faculty are supported by modern laboratory infrastructure, with the aim of enabling students to gain a solid academic background and practical experience. Through advanced technological facilities and an experienced academic staff, high-standard education in Engineering and Architecture is provided to our students.
Adopting a student-centered educational approach, our faculty aims to educate individuals who are capable of critical thinking, closely follow scientific developments, and embrace the principle of lifelong learning. History
Cyprus Aydın University, established in 2013, has rapidly secured a strong position among the young and dynamic higher education institutions of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Having admitted its first students in 2014, our university has today become an international education center by hosting students not only from the TRNC, but also from Türkiye and various regions around the world.
The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Cyprus Aydın University commenced its educational activities in the 2013–2015 academic year in line with its mission to educate qualified engineers and architects. Since its establishment, the faculty has adopted a contemporary educational philosophy grounded in scientific knowledge and has been structured around an ethical, student-centered educational approach.
With up-to-date curricula and an expert and experienced academic staff, the Faculty aims to provide Engineering and Architecture education in accordance with national and international standards. Guided by an academic vision based on continuous development, the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Cyprus Aydın University strives to establish a strong educational and research environment in a short period of time.

The mission of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Cyprus Aydın University is to educate engineers and architects who are committed to ethical principles, in line with scientific knowledge and a contemporary educational philosophy. In this context, the Faculty aims to provide its students with a strong theoretical foundation and advanced practical skills through educational programs supported by modern laboratory facilities, and to prepare its graduates for professional life as individuals who possess the professional competence to deliver engineering and architectural services at international standards.

Aims and Scope
The objective of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Cyprus Aydın University is to educate engineers and architects who are committed to humanistic and ethical values; who possess advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills; who demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility; who are capable of effective communication; and who have adopted the principle of lifelong learning.
In line with this objective, the educational scope of the Faculty includes undergraduate education structured in compliance with the Turkish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (TYYÇ). The curriculum is designed to enable students to develop a strong theoretical foundation, independent decision-making abilities, and the competence to ground their professional practices on scientific and ethical principles.
Furthermore, the program aims to instill habits of continuous professional development and lifelong learning, and to educate engineers and architects who are able to integrate technological innovations and scientific advancements into their professional practices.

The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture commenced its educational activities in the Fall semester of the 2013–2014 academic year. Today, the Faculty offers five (5) undergraduate programs: Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, and Information Security Engineering.
In addition, the Faculty provides three (3) graduate (Master’s) programs: Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Software Engineering.

Management Structure

Committees & Commissions
Faculty Board
The Faculty Board is chaired by the Dean and consists of the heads of the departments affiliated with the faculty, as well as the directors of any institutes or schools affiliated with the faculty, if applicable. In addition, the Board includes faculty members elected for a three-year term: three professors elected from among the professors, two associate professors elected from among the associate professors, and one assistant professor elected from among the assistant professors of the faculty.
The Faculty Board holds its regular meetings at the beginning and at the end of each academic semester. The Dean may convene the Faculty Board for a meeting whenever deemed necessary.
Duties:
The Faculty Board is an academic body and performs the following duties:
- To determine the principles, plans, programs, and academic calendar related to the faculty’s education and training, scientific research, and publication activities.
- To elect members to the Faculty Executive Board.
- To perform other duties assigned by laws and regulations.
Faculty Executive Board
The Faculty Executive Board is chaired by the Dean and consists of three professors, two associate professors, and one assistant professor elected by the Faculty Board for a three-year term.
The Faculty Executive Board convenes upon the call of the Dean. When necessary, the Board may establish temporary working groups and education–training coordination units and regulate their duties.
Duties:
The Faculty Executive Board is an administrative body that assists the Dean in administrative affairs and performs the following duties:
- To assist the Dean in the implementation of the decisions and principles determined by the Faculty Board.
- To ensure the implementation of the faculty’s education and training plans, programs, and academic calendar.
- To prepare draft investment plans, programs, and the budget of the faculty.
- To make decisions on all matters related to faculty administration submitted by the Dean.
- To make decisions regarding student admissions, course equivalency and transfers, dismissals, and procedures related to education, training, and examinations.
- To perform other duties assigned by laws and regulations.

Work Placement
Regulations regarding the clinical practices conducted by each department in the fourth and fifth years are determined by the Education Commission of Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Dentistry at the beginning of the academic year and are implemented within the timeframes specified in the academic calendar.
In the fourth and fifth years, students receive their clinical training and practice at the Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Dentistry Oral and Dental Health Research and Application Hospital, where they undergo clinical education in different clinics for varying durations.

Academic Advising:
Each student who enrolls at our University is assigned an academic advisor to provide guidance throughout their academic life. You can view information about your academic advisor through the CAU360 system.
Your academic advisor assists you with the following matters:
● Provides basic information about the academic program you are enrolled in.
● Informs you about relevant regulations and directives, helping you understand your rights and responsibilities.
● Monitors your academic processes, particularly course registration procedures and graduation status.
● Follows your academic performance and development and provides guidance when necessary.
● Checks whether your course selection and course registration renewal comply with the relevant regulations.
● Provides guidance on academic procedures such as adaptation (course transfer), exemptions, and equivalency.

Since its establishment, Cyprus Aydın University has reflected its commitment to quality in all its practices. Our faculty is equipped with modern infrastructure and physical facilities that support its educational and research activities. The laboratories and practical training areas are designed to help students combine theoretical knowledge with practical application. Classrooms, computer-aided learning environments and technical equipment are continuously upgraded to meet the latest requirements in engineering education.
Electrical and Electronics Laboratory,
The Electrical and Electronics Laboratory provides a well-equipped educational environment where students can develop their fundamental and advanced electrical and electronic knowledge through practical application. The laboratory facilitates work on circuit analysis, measurement techniques, analogue and digital electronics applications, as well as the design and testing of microcontroller-based systems.
Students have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice using modern equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies and various experiment kits; they develop skills in circuit assembly, measurement and fault analysis. The aim is to prepare them for professional life as individuals equipped with the necessary technical skills in the field of electrical and electronic engineering and with well-developed problem-solving abilities upon graduation.
Mechatronics Laboratory,
The Mechatronics Laboratory provides a well-equipped educational environment designed to develop students’ interdisciplinary engineering skills by integrating the disciplines of mechanics, electronics and software through a holistic approach. The laboratory facilitates practical work on sensor and actuator applications, robotic systems, microcontroller programming, automation systems and control techniques.
Students transform their theoretical knowledge into practice by working with various experiment kits, robotic arms, PLC systems and embedded system platforms; thereby developing their skills in system design, integration and problem-solving. The aim is to train competent, innovative and highly skilled engineering candidates in the fields of industrial automation and smart systems.
Physics and Chemistry Laboratory,
The Physics and Chemistry Laboratory provides a comprehensive educational environment where students can reinforce their theoretical knowledge of the basic sciences through practical work. In the laboratory, experiments are conducted in the field of physics covering mechanics, electricity, optics and waves, whilst in the field of chemistry, practical work is carried out on solubility, titration, reaction kinetics and material analysis.
Students acquire the skills to take measurements, collect data and evaluate results using scientific methods, utilising modern laboratory equipment and experiment kits. Throughout this process, emphasis is placed on laboratory safety, laboratory discipline and the principles of scientific work, with the aim of developing students’ analytical thinking, problem-solving and research skills.
There are two computer laboratories on our campus. These are the A Block Computer Laboratory and the C Block MAC Computer Laboratories. The computer laboratories provide modern, well-equipped educational environments where students can apply their theoretical knowledge of information technology through practical work. Courses in programming, database management, network systems, software development and office applications are conducted practically within these laboratories.
Supported by up-to-date software and hardware infrastructure, these environments enable students to develop problem-solving, algorithmic thinking and project development skills through hands-on practice at computer workstations. Furthermore, group work and project-based learning methods support students’ ability to adapt to teamwork and enhance their professional competencies.
Furthermore, the studios within the Architecture and Interior Architecture departments are equipped with high-quality physical and technological infrastructure. The studio spaces within the Faculty have been designed to be suitable for critique sessions, jury assessments and workshop activities, whilst offering flexible usage options.
Furthermore, computer laboratories, multi-purpose classrooms and communal areas, equipped to facilitate both theoretical lectures and computer-aided design, modelling and visualisation applications, are actively utilised. The educational infrastructure is continuously developed and updated to support the drawing, digital production, research and presentation processes required by the disciplines of architecture, interior architecture and industrial design.

1. When I graduate from the Engineering-Architecture department, which university will issue my diploma?
Students graduating from the Engineering-Architecture Faculty will receive a diploma from Cyprus Aydın University.
2. If I win a scholarship, will it be annual or will it continue for the entire duration of my education?
Scholarships continue for the duration of our students’ legal education period (4 years). If the education period is extended, students can request the continuation of their scholarships by stating their specific reasons.
3. Is there an exam that international students must take to apply to the department?
No. Students can apply to our faculty if they meet the specified conditions. Application and admission requirements are determined by the higher education institution.

There is no additional exam for TRNC students. Our university conducts scholarship and placement exams.
5. What is the language of instruction at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture?
All courses and practicals are conducted in English.
6. Is there an age limit to apply to the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture?
Yes. According to TRNC laws, foreign students must be no older than 25 to enroll in undergraduate programs.
