The Faculty of Health Sciences at Cyprus Aydın University is a faculty comprising the Departments of Nursing (Turkish), Nursing (English) and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, which embraces a contemporary and practice-based approach to education. Our faculty closely follows the latest developments in the health sector and, with its strong academic and physical infrastructure, provides its students with a high-quality learning environment.

Faculty Overview
Our educational programmes are structured around a student-centred, interdisciplinary approach that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application. Course content is designed to support the development of students’ communication skills, critical thinking abilities and sense of professional responsibility, in addition to their professional competencies.
The educational process, led by our experienced academic staff, is supported by modern clinical laboratories and practical training facilities. Thanks to the well-equipped laboratories at our faculty, students have the opportunity to develop their professional skills in safe and controlled conditions.
Our students receive direct bedside training through clinical placements at hospitals and centres affiliated with the Ministry of Health; they gain the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in real healthcare settings. These placements contribute to students gaining professional experience and preparing effectively for their post-graduation careers.

History
Cyprus Aydin Universty was established in 2013 and has quickly established itself as a leading institution among the young and dynamic higher education institutions in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Having admitted its first students in 2014, our university has become an international education hub, currently hosting students from the TRNC as well as from Turkey and various regions around the world.
The Faculty of Health Sciences at Cyprus Aydın University began its educational activities in the 2014–2015 academic year with the goal of training qualified health professionals. The departments that form the fundamental and indispensable components of the healthcare system are gaining increasing importance today, offering strong career prospects and promising professional opportunities for young people. Since its inception, the Faculty of Health Sciences at Cyprus Aydın University has adopted a contemporary educational philosophy that integrates scientific knowledge with clinical and field applications, structured around an ethics-driven and student-centered educational approach.

The mission of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Cyprus Aydın University is to train health professionals who are committed to ethical principles, patient-centered, and sensitive to public health, in line with a contemporary educational approach that integrates scientific knowledge with clinical practice. In this context, our Faculty aims to provide students with a strong theoretical foundation and professional practical skills through programs supported by modern educational and laboratory facilities; it prepares graduates to enter their professional careers as competent individuals capable of taking on effective roles in national and international healthcare settings.

The mission of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Cyprus Aydın University is to educate health professionals who are committed to humanistic and ethical values, possess well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills, have a strong sense of responsibility, can communicate effectively, are team-oriented, and embrace lifelong learning. Our faculty aims to produce qualified graduates who can apply contemporary healthcare approaches centered on individual and public health, follow scientific developments, and use their professional knowledge and skills to protect, develop, and ensure the sustainability of healthcare services.
In line with this objective, the faculty’s education and training process encompasses a student-centered, practice-oriented undergraduate education that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application. The educational programs are structured to enable students to gain a strong theoretical foundation specific to their field and to develop their professional skills through clinical and field practice. The programs aim to enhance students’ competencies in independent decision-making, grounding their professional practice in scientific data and ethical principles, and developing an approach sensitive to patient and public health. Management Structure

Committees and Commissions
Faculty Board
The Faculty Board is chaired by the Dean and consists of the heads of the departments affiliated with the faculty, as well as the directors of any institutes or schools affiliated with the faculty, if applicable. In addition, the Board includes faculty members elected for a three-year term: three professors elected from among the professors, two associate professors elected from among the associate professors, and one assistant professor elected from among the assistant professors of the faculty.
The Faculty Board holds its regular meetings at the beginning and at the end of each academic semester. The Dean may convene the Faculty Board for a meeting whenever deemed necessary.
The Faculty Board is an academic body and performs the following duties:
- To determine the principles, plans, programs, and academic calendar related to the faculty’s education and training, scientific research, and publication activities.
- To elect members to the Faculty Executive Board.
- To perform other duties assigned by laws and regulations.
Faculty Executive Board
The Faculty Executive Board is chaired by the Dean and consists of three professors, two associate professors, and one assistant professor elected by the Faculty Board for a three-year term.
The Faculty Executive Board convenes upon the call of the Dean. When necessary, the Board may establish temporary working groups and education–training coordination units and regulate their duties.
The Faculty Executive Board is an administrative body that assists the Dean in administrative affairs and performs the following duties:
- To assist the Dean in the implementation of the decisions and principles determined by the Faculty Board.
- To ensure the implementation of the faculty’s education and training plans, programs, and academic calendar.
- To prepare draft investment plans, programs, and the budget of the faculty.
- To make decisions on all matters related to faculty administration submitted by the Dean.
- To make decisions regarding student admissions, course equivalency and transfers, dismissals, and procedures related to education, training, and examinations.
- To perform other duties assigned by laws and regulations.

The Faculty of Health Sciences Student Support Services aims to support students’ academic, clinical, and personal development through a holistic approach. Academic counseling services provide guidance to students on course selection, exam processes, and career planning. In clinical and field applications, guidance and structured feedback are provided to help students develop their professional knowledge and skills.
Psychological counseling and guidance services aim to support students’ mental well-being, strengthen their stress management skills, and facilitate their adaptation to university life. Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations -
Academic Advising:
Each student who enrolls at our University is assigned an academic advisor to provide guidance throughout their academic life. You can view information about your academic advisor through the CAU360 system.
Your academic advisor assists you with the following matters:
● Provides basic information about the academic program you are enrolled in.
● Informs you about relevant regulations and directives, helping you understand your rights and responsibilities.
● Monitors your academic processes, particularly course registration procedures and graduation status.
● Follows your academic performance and development and provides guidance when necessary.
● Checks whether your course selection and course registration renewal comply with the relevant regulations.
● Provides guidance on academic procedures such as adaptation (course transfer), exemptions, and equivalency.
● Monitors your repeated courses and checks your registration status.
● Approves your course selections through the CAU360 system before the beginning of the semester or informs you of any inconsistencies and requests necessary adjustments.
● Informs you about scholarships, internship opportunities, and other opportunities offered by the University.
● Refers you to the Student Health Center for health-related issues and to the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center when psychological support is needed.
● Directs students who wish to receive information about exchange programs (Erasmus, Farabi, etc.) to the relevant coordinators.

Exchange Programs
The Faculty of Health Sciences at Cyprus Aydın University continues its efforts to strengthen academic collaborations at both the national and international levels. Within this framework, activities related to education and training, academic mobility, and joint scientific events are being carried out as part of institutional collaborations with Istanbul Aydın University. Additionally, the Nursing Program at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Cyprus Aydın University is engaged in academic collaborations with the University of Oslo, including student exchange programs and faculty visits. These collaborations aim to enhance the quality of nursing education, promote academic exchange, and provide students with the opportunity to experience diverse academic environments at both the national and international levels.

As this is the first year since the establishment of our faculty, we do not yet have any graduates. The Alumni and Members Association and the Career Center operating under the umbrella of our university provide guidance and support to our students.

Since its establishment, Cyprus Aydın University has reflected its commitment to quality in all its practices. In line with this approach, the Strategy Development and Quality Coordination Office has been established to develop and disseminate a culture of quality across the University; to enhance education, training, and research activities in accordance with the institution’s strategic plan and objectives; to support quality assurance activities of academic units; to set standards related to its scope of responsibility; to prepare forms and guidelines; and to monitor quality development and continuous improvement processes.

The quality policy of the Faculty of Dentistry is shaped within the framework of the University’s overall quality policy and primarily aims at excellence in education, continuous improvement, and compliance with national and international standards. This policy is announced through the University’s main website and the Quality Coordination Office and is implemented through the internal units established within the Faculty of Dentistry. In line with the vision and mission of our university, and within the framework of the Quality Management System, the Faculty aims to:

Quality Assurance Processes
Quality Assurance Processes in Education and Training
Educational activities at our faculty are conducted in line with a student-centered approach to education and a continuous improvement approach. The learning outcomes and course content of the departments within the faculty are regularly reviewed and updated in line with the national qualifications framework, national core education programs, professional standards, and the current requirements of the departments. The opinions of academic staff, students, graduates, and healthcare sector stakeholders are taken into account in curriculum development processes.
Assessment and evaluation processes at our faculty are conducted based on transparent and objective evaluation criteria that are consistent with course learning outcomes. Students’ knowledge, skills, and competency levels in theoretical and practical courses are monitored using multiple assessment methods; the results are used in the development and improvement of programs. Course and teaching staff evaluation surveys conducted at the end of each semester provide data for quality improvement efforts.
Quality Assurance in Applied Education
Clinical and field applications are one of the fundamental components of the education process in the departments of the Faculty of Health Sciences. In this context, the institutions where the applications will be carried out are determined, cooperation protocols are established with the institutions, and students are provided with education in safe and qualified learning environments under the supervision and control of the instructors responsible for the courses.
In clinical practice, students’ professional skills, ethical behavior, and awareness of patient safety are monitored using structured assessment tools. Clinical education processes are regularly improved based on feedback received from practice areas and practice supervisors.
Quality Assurance in Research Activities
Research activities conducted at our faculty are carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations of our university and scientific ethical principles. Ethical committee approval and research and publication ethics are strictly adhered to in research. Incentive mechanisms that support the scientific production capacity of academic staff are used at our university, and research outputs are regularly monitored.
Student Participation and Feedback Mechanisms
Students are considered active stakeholders in the quality assurance system at our faculty. Student opinions are regularly gathered through student satisfaction surveys, course and instructor evaluation forms, and suggestion systems. Student representatives contribute to decision-making processes by participating in relevant committees and commissions. Academic advisors regularly share student feedback at Faculty meetings. Improvements are made in education, teaching, counseling, and student support services based on the feedback received.

Anatomy Laboratory
The Anatomy Laboratory is one of the core teaching areas that enables students to learn about the structure of the human body through practical experience, going beyond theoretical knowledge. This laboratory contains models of the skeletal system and organ models. The laboratory is arranged to support students’ learning through observation and hands-on experience and is equipped with modern educational technologies. Designed in accordance with safety and hygiene regulations, this environment allows students to undertake both individual and group work. The Anatomy Laboratory plays a significant role in developing the professional competencies of students studying in the fields of health and education.
Clinical Skills Laboratory
The Clinical Skills Laboratory is a vital training facility that enables students to learn professional practices in a safe and controlled environment. In this laboratory, fundamental patient care procedures are carried out using simulation manikins and training materials. Students have the opportunity to learn skills such as injection techniques, dressing changes, vital sign measurement and basic clinical interventions through practical application.
The laboratory is designed to reflect a real hospital environment and is supported by modern educational technologies. Through simulation-based training, students have the opportunity to develop their professional skills whilst gaining experience by minimising the risk of error. This safe, hygienic and well-equipped environment helps to boost students’ confidence, contributing to their readiness for clinical practice.
Neurological, Orthopaedic and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Laboratory
The Neurological, Orthopaedic and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Laboratory is a comprehensive training environment that enables students to develop their knowledge and skills in various fields of rehabilitation through practical application. In this laboratory, assessment and treatment approaches for neurological, musculoskeletal and cardiopulmonary conditions are taught through practical application.
The laboratory features dedicated areas for balance and coordination training, parallel bars for gait training, exercise equipment and devices for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. In this environment, students acquire the skills to plan and implement rehabilitation programmes tailored to different patient scenarios.
Designed to reflect a real clinical setting, the laboratory is supported by modern equipment and educational materials. By providing a safe and controlled learning environment, this facility not only enhances students’ professional competence but also contributes to the development of a patient-centred approach.
