Our Vocational School aims to educate students to become well-prepared and well-equipped individuals ready for the world of work. Thanks to our practice-oriented education programmes and industry partnerships, our students have the opportunity to develop their professional skills to the highest level. Our academic staff, who are experts in their fields, support our students with their up-to-date knowledge and experience, whilst internships and practical work enable our students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice.
Introduction
The Vocational School of Cyprus Aydın University was established with a practice-oriented and multidisciplinary educational approach aimed at equipping students with professional skills in a short period of time; within this framework, students are encouraged to take courses from different departments to acquire knowledge and skills across a variety of fields. The programmes place equal emphasis on imparting practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge. This approach is designed to help students adapt more easily to the world of work after graduation.
The educational programmes are delivered by an academic staff with extensive experience in their fields, and course content is regularly updated to meet the needs of the industry. The aim is to reinforce the knowledge gained in lectures through practical application, thereby contributing to students’ professional development. Practical work and internship opportunities help students translate their theoretical knowledge into practice.
Active student participation is prioritised throughout the educational process, and an interactive learning environment is fostered in classes. This approach supports students in both enhancing their professional knowledge and building self-confidence.
Our Vocational School aims to prepare its graduates to take on roles in various sectors within both the public and private sectors. Graduates enter the workforce as individuals who are better prepared for their careers, guided by the knowledge and skills they have acquired.
History
KAÜN Vocational School was established one year after the foundation of our University. Since 2015, it has played a leading role in educating qualified professionals for the tourism and aviation sectors through its Civil Aviation Cabin Services and Tourist Guiding Programs. All programs offered by our Vocational School have been approved by YÖDAK and YÖK. Since its establishment, the School has continued to provide high-quality education and conduct research activities in the fields of tourism and aviation.

Aims and Scope
The primary aim of the Vocational School at Cyprus Aydın University is to equip our students with professional knowledge and skills, to train them in line with the needs of the industry, and to prepare them for working life after graduation. Our educational programmes are designed to incorporate both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The programmes offered by our Vocational School encompass practical courses, work placements and project opportunities, as well as student support services and academic and social activities. Students have the opportunity to support their professional and personal development through the knowledge and experience they gain during their time at the school.
The Faculty in Figures
The programs offered within CAU Vocational School have been actively chosen by students since their establishment. As of the 2025–2026 Fall Semester, 189 active students are enrolled in our Vocational School, and a total of 375 students have graduated to date. In line with its designated quotas, the School continues its educational activities and provides a dynamic learning environment for students from different regions.
Teaching and learning activities are carried out by a qualified academic staff with expertise in their respective fields. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical learning, our academic staff continue to support the development of students’ professional knowledge and skills.

Management Structure
Boards and Committees
College Council
The College Council consists of the Director as chair, the Deputy Directors and the heads of the programmes comprising the college. In addition, representatives elected from among the teaching staff of the college may also sit on the Council. The College Council holds its regular meetings at the beginning and end of each semester. The Director convenes the College Council whenever deemed necessary.
Duties
The College Council is an academic body and performs the following duties:
• To determine the college’s educational, scientific research and practical activities, and the principles governing these activities,
• To establish educational plans and programmes, as well as the academic calendar,
• To elect members to the College Management Board,
College Management Board
The College Management Board consists of academic staff elected by the College Council for a term of three years, and is chaired by the Director. The College Management Board convenes at the Director’s request. The Management Board may establish ad hoc working groups and coordination units where deemed necessary, and shall define their responsibilities.
Duties
The College Management Board acts as an advisory body to the Director in administrative matters and performs the following duties:
• To assist the Director in the implementation of the College Council’s decisions,
• To ensure the implementation of education and teaching plans and programmes, as well as the academic calendar,
• To prepare the college’s investment, programme and budget proposals,
• To make decisions on matters relating to college management brought forward by the Director,
• To make decisions regarding student admissions, course transfers, suspension of studies and withdrawal, as well as examinations,
• To carry out other duties assigned by laws and regulations.
Committees
Various committees are established at the college to ensure the effective conduct of teaching and learning, research and administrative activities. These committees are established upon the recommendation of the principal and by decision of the college’s governing board.

There are two active programmes under the School of Vocational Studies at Cyprus Aydın University. These are the Civil Aviation Cabin Services (in Turkish) and the Tourist Guiding (in English) programmes. Our programmes are accredited by YÖK and YÖDAK.

Student Support Services

An industry internship is compulsory in the Civil Aviation Cabin Services Program. Students have the opportunity to develop their professional knowledge and skills in a real working environment through practical training at relevant sector institutions, primarily Ercan Airport.
Although there is no compulsory internship in the Tourist Guiding Program, students’ professional development is supported through field trips, practical courses and industry events.

In line with the institutional quality policy, mission and vision of Cyprus Aydın University, the College adopts an approach that prioritises quality assurance in its teaching and learning, research and community engagement activities. Our Vocational School aims to develop, disseminate and ensure the sustainability of a quality culture by working in coordination with the Strategic Development and Quality Coordination Unit operating within the university.
Within this framework, our Vocational School’s quality policy has been shaped on the principles of transparency, participation, accountability and continuous improvement. Ensuring that education and teaching processes are conducted in accordance with national and international academic standards, upholding scientific ethics and quality principles in research activities, and encouraging value-generating work with a sense of social responsibility are among the priorities of our Vocational School.
Within the scope of the Quality Management System, our Vocational School aims to:

Quality Assurance Processes
Quality assurance processes encompass planning, implementation, monitoring and improvement activities. Regular reviews are conducted for programmes, learning outcomes, assessment methods and student support services. An evidence-based decision-making approach is adopted through documented procedures and responsible committees.
Surveys and Feedback Mechanisms
The monitoring and continuous improvement of the education, research and service processes carried out at the Vocational School are conducted within the framework of Cyprus Aydın University’s institutional quality assurance system. In line with this, our faculty conducts its activities in accordance with the quality assurance policies and procedures applied across the university.
As part of the feedback mechanisms implemented by the University, the views of students, graduates and academic staff are regularly collected through surveys and evaluation forms. The feedback obtained is utilised in initiatives aimed at developing teaching and learning processes, enhancing student satisfaction and improving service quality.

Research activities at our Vocational School focus on practice-oriented and industry-linked topics. The work carried out within the Tourist Guiding and Civil Aviation programmes aims to support students’ professional development.
Tourist Guiding Programme
Research in this programme concentrates on areas such as sustainable tourism, cultural heritage, destination promotion and visitor experience. Students participate in the research process through fieldwork and practical projects.
Civil Aviation Programme
In the Civil Aviation programme, research is conducted on service quality in aviation, passenger experience, cabin services and operational processes. These studies aim to enhance students’ sector-specific knowledge and skills.

Infrastructure and Physical Facilities
The Civil Aviation Cabin Services and Tour Guide programs, offered at Kaün Vocational School, feature a well-equipped infrastructure and physical facilities designed to develop students’ professional knowledge and skills. The Civil Aviation Cabin Services program provides hands-on training environments equipped with educational materials and practical equipment, enabling students to gain hands-on experience with in-cabin service procedures. In the Tour Guide program, classrooms are equipped with audiovisual materials, maps, and presentation technologies, which help students effectively learn and convey cultural and historical information. These infrastructure resources aim to enhance the practice-oriented educational approach of both programs, thereby increasing students’ professional competence.
