Double Major and Minor
What Is a Double Major?
The dual degree program is an opportunity that allows students who have successfully completed their undergraduate studies to take courses concurrently in a second undergraduate program of their choice and earn a degree from that program as well.
For programs that require a specific academic ranking, students wishing to apply for a dual degree must meet the academic ranking criteria established by the Higher Education Council for the relevant program as of the year of their enrollment, in addition to the other conditions specified in the relevant Regulation.
When Can You Apply for the Double Major Program?
Students in a four-year major program may apply for a double major program as early as the beginning of the third semester and no later than the beginning of the fifth semester, provided they meet certain requirements. To apply, the student must have successfully completed all courses in their major program, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4.0 scale, and rank in the top 20% of their class in the major program. If a student’s cumulative GPA is 3.00 or higher but their academic ranking does not place them in the top 20%, students whose qualifications align with the admission requirements and type of the program they are applying to may also apply.
What Is a Minor Program?
A minor program is a program that allows students to earn a certificate by taking courses in another undergraduate program of their interest in addition to their primary undergraduate degree.
When Can You Apply for the Minor Program?
Applications for a minor may be submitted starting from the beginning of the third semester of the four-year major undergraduate program, and students must have met the necessary requirements by the start of the sixth semester at the latest. To apply, students must have successfully completed all courses up to the relevant semester and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 in their major program.
