Educational Management Doctoral Program
General Information
The Doctoral Program in Educational Management is a doctoral-level graduate education program conducted within the Graduate Education and Research Institute of Cyprus Aydın University. The language of instruction for the program is Turkish, and the duration of study is planned to cover coursework, qualification, and thesis phases.
The program operates within the field of Educational Sciences and aims to provide advanced academic specialization in educational management, leadership, policy development, and organizational processes. Teaching, learning, and research processes are carried out in coordination between the relevant department and institute units; scientific production, research, and thesis work are conducted in accordance with academic standards.
Within this framework, the program aims to train researchers and experts who can conduct original research in the field of education, produce theoretical and applied knowledge, and assume academic and managerial leadership roles.
Message from the Program Director
The Doctoral Program in Educational Administration, conducted within the Graduate Education and Research Institute of Cyprus Aydın University, aims to train academics and experts who possess advanced theoretical knowledge in educational administration, are capable of conducting independent research, and can make original scientific contributions to the field. It is widely accepted that the quality of today’s education systems is directly related to a management approach based on scientific foundations and strong leadership practices. Accordingly, our program adopts a research-oriented and critical academic approach.
During the program, doctoral students are supported in their ability to analyze educational policies, organizational structures, and administrative processes in a multidimensional manner and to develop data-driven and sustainable solutions to complex educational problems. Scientific research methods, ethical principles, and academic writing standards are applied to strengthen students’ independent thinking and original knowledge production skills. The thesis work, as a fundamental component of the program, enables students to conduct research that can contribute at the national and international levels.
Our department is based on the principles of quality assurance, academic rigor, and continuous development, maintaining a strong research culture and a collaborative and productive academic environment. The aim is to train researchers who can take on leadership roles in education, have a high sense of scientific responsibility, and contribute to society.

Program Overview
The Doctoral Program in Educational Administration is conducted in line with a postgraduate education approach that examines the management, leadership, and policy processes of educational institutions at an advanced level, integrating theoretical depth with scientific research. The program aims to critically and analytically evaluate the structural, organizational, and managerial dimensions of education systems and to produce knowledge specific to the field.
The program’s academic approach is based on developing the competencies to conduct independent research, develop theory, and produce scientific solutions to complex educational problems. In this regard, students’ advanced research skills, academic writing competencies, and scientific ethical understanding are systematically developed. The thesis process is positioned as the fundamental tool for original and high-quality scientific contribution.

Purpose and Objectives
The primary purpose of the Doctoral Program in Educational Administration is to train researchers who possess advanced theoretical knowledge in the field of educational administration, are capable of conducting original and independent research, can contribute scientifically to the field, and can assume academic leadership roles. The program is structured in line with the Turkey Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ) Level 8 qualifications and the university’s research-oriented education vision.
In this regard, the program’s objectives are outlined below:
• To provide advanced theoretical and practical expertise in the field of educational administration,
• To develop the competence to design independent research, collect data, analyze it, and produce original scientific output,
• To provide the ability to evaluate educational policies and management processes in a multidimensional and critical manner,
• Ensuring academic competence to publish nationally and internationally,
• Strengthening academic ethics, scientific responsibility, and social contribution awareness,
• Providing scientific training at a level enabling graduates to undertake teaching, research, and academic leadership roles in higher education institutions.
In line with these objectives, graduates are expected to become researchers who generate knowledge in the field of education management, contribute to policy development processes, and guide the academic community.

The Doctorate Program in Education Management is conducted within the Cyprus Aydın University Graduate School of Education and Research in accordance with the national higher education legislation and quality assurance principles in force. The program’s education, teaching, and research processes are regularly monitored and evaluated within the scope of the university’s internal quality assurance system, and continuous improvement efforts are carried out.
The program is structured in line with the Turkey Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ) Level 8 qualifications. Academic standards, the qualification process, and thesis work are planned within the framework of relevant legislation and institutional quality policies.

Admission Requirements
The application and admission procedures for the Doctorate Program in Educational Management are conducted in accordance with the regulations of the Cyprus Aydın University Graduate School of Education and Research and the applicable national higher education regulations.
Applicants to the program must hold a thesis-based master’s degree. Applicants’ academic performance, undergraduate and graduate grade point averages, scientific qualifications, and application documents are evaluated by the relevant academic committees. Where deemed necessary, scientific evaluation, written/oral exams, or interviews may be conducted. Foreign language proficiency and other requirements are determined in accordance with relevant regulations and institute decisions.

Admission, Recognition, and Transfers
Admission, recognition, and transfer procedures in the Doctorate Program in Educational Management are conducted in accordance with the regulations of the Cyprus Aydın University Graduate School of Education and Research and the applicable national higher education regulations.
Applications for lateral transfers from doctoral programs at other higher education institutions are evaluated by the relevant academic committees, taking into account the applicants’ academic background, performance, and previously completed work. Course content and credit compatibility are taken into account; exemptions and equivalency procedures may be carried out for courses deemed appropriate.
Applications for the recognition of prior learning are examined based on documentation and decided upon within the framework of the principle of equivalence. All processes are conducted in accordance with the principles of transparency, academic competence, and quality assurance.
