Horizontal Transfer

Turkish citizens wishing to transfer to another institution may apply for mid-semester transfers to universities offering education within the TRNC. For students seeking to transfer between institutions, their central placement scores from the year they were admitted to their current university or their cumulative GPA as shown on their transcripts are of great importance.

During the mid-term period, students may only transfer from one associate degree program to another. Undergraduate programs may only accept lateral transfers at the beginning of the academic year.

Horizontal Transfer Under the Framework of the Implementation Principles of Additional Article 1:

Students eligible to continue in a bachelor’s degree program may apply for transfer to Cyprus Aydin University’s 4-year bachelor’s or 2-year associate degree programs in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Under Addendum 1, if a student’s central placement score from the year of enrollment is equal to or higher than the minimum admission score for the diploma program at the university to which they wish to transfer in the year of admission, they may apply for lateral transfer—including preparatory classes—after all final grades for the semester have been listed on the transcript. Applications from such candidates are evaluated by the relevant committees of higher education institutions, and lateral transfers are accepted provided they do not exceed 30% of the student quota specified for the relevant diploma program in the ÖSYM guide for that year. In cases where the number of applications exceeds the quota, lateral transfers are accepted for the number of candidates equal to the quota, starting with the candidate with the highest ÖSYM score.
