STUDENT RESIDENCE PERMIT
Who is required to obtain a student residence permit in the TRNC?
• Foreign nationals who will be pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree at a higher education institution are required to obtain a Student Residence Permit.
• Students who will be studying at universities must submit their applications for student residence permits by following the necessary steps through the application designed for this purpose on the Directorate’s official website.

What steps must foreign students who have turned 18 and are still enrolled in secondary school take?
- Student residence permits are issued by the Office upon application and upon proof of enrollment in secondary education, without any further conditions.
- Required documents: Valid passport, valid student ID, receipt for the fee paid to the tax office
- Under the current procedure, students must apply to the Immigration Office for a student residence permit along with these documents.
- The student applying for the permit must enter the TRNC with a valid passport.
