Cyprus Aydın University made history by hosting its first graduation ceremony under its new name, creating an unforgettable day for all involved. Graduates from all faculties and vocational schools received their diplomas in a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere. Leaving the stage with pride, they celebrated not only their academic achievements but also the hope they hold for their futures.
The ceremony symbolized both the official launch of the university’s renewed identity and a significant milestone in its journey. Led by Honorary President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Nur Aydın, and Rector Prof. Dr. Yadigar İzmirli, the event was celebrated with high participation and great enthusiasm.
In addition to academics, students, and their families, many distinguished state officials and bureaucrats attended the ceremony.
Among the notable attendees were Erhan Akar, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Presidency, and Mesut Genç, Public Relations Advisor to the Presidency, as well as Fadıl Keleş, President of the State Planning Organization, accompanied by his spouse, and Kamil Ağcabay, Chief of Cabinet at the Ministry of Finance — all of whom added significance to the event.
From the judiciary, Senior Prosecutor Nail Egemen Metay was present, along with key figures from higher education, including YÖDAK President Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, YÖDAK Secretary General Erdinç Akgür, YÖDAK Member Prof. Dr. Remziye Terkan, and YÖDİD representative Behçet Çelebi — reinforcing Cyprus Aydın University’s growing reputation in the academic world.
The presence of Dr. Ziya Öztürkler, President of the Republic’s Assembly, was a strong symbol of state support. Cabinet ministers such as Minister of Finance Dr. Özdemir Berova, Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, and Minister of Health Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek also joined in the celebration of the graduates’ achievements.
Additionally, acting Rector of the International Final University Prof. Dr. Orhan Gemikonaklı and Rector of Onbeş Kasım University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Menekay attended the ceremony.
