The Bachelor’s Program in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation offers an interdisciplinary education aimed at equipping students with the fundamental and clinical knowledge, skills, and professional competencies necessary to enhance individuals’ quality of life in the field of health sciences. General Information
The Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation aims to train creative physical therapists who are equipped with contemporary knowledge and technology, committed to ethical values, and respectful of human rights.
The program aims to improve public health through evidence-based practices and to provide multidisciplinary education capable of addressing the growing professional needs in Turkey and the TRNC.
Over the course of the four-year program, theoretical knowledge is reinforced with practical courses to build a strong practical foundation.

Master’s in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation / Turkish / Thesis-Based / 2 Years
The Master’s Program in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation offers graduate-level education designed to provide advanced academic knowledge, research skills, and specialized expertise in the field of physical therapy and rehabilitation. Structured in line with the university’s mission focused on research and scientific output, the program aims to enable students to conduct original research, acquire the ability to publish scientific works, and develop expertise in clinical assessment and intervention skills. Thesis studies and academic activities conducted within the program are carried out in accordance with national and international scientific standards.

As the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at Cyprus Aydın University, our primary goal is to train physical therapists who possess a strong professional ethos, adhere to ethical values, and embrace scientific and evidence-based practices.
In line with this, our educational program is structured to integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical practice and is delivered by our expert academic staff in modern classroom and laboratory settings. We aim for our students to graduate not only with professional knowledge and

Program Overview
The Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Program offers a science-based educational approach aimed at assessing, developing, and maintaining individuals’ mobility and functional capacity. Through its structure that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application, the program aims to develop students’ professional competencies, foster an awareness of ethical responsibilities, and instill an understanding of evidence-based practice.
The educational process is supported by clinical observation, fieldwork, and research activities, encouraging students to adapt to interdisciplinary teamwork and develop effective intervention strategies tailored to the needs of diverse individuals and communities. Distinctive features of the program include a practice-oriented educational model, the use of technological assessment and measurement methods, and a quality assurance approach based on continuous improvement.
Aims and Objectives
The primary aim of the programme is to produce graduates with a high level of professional knowledge, skills and awareness of ethical responsibilities in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. In line with this, the programme’s objectives are set out below
- To provide a theoretical knowledge base grounded in basic and clinical sciences
- To develop clinical assessment and treatment planning skills, and to instil an understanding of evidence-based practice,
- To train individuals who possess ethical principles and a sense of professional responsibility,
- To train healthcare professionals capable of adapting to interdisciplinary teamwork,
- To equip students with the competence to conduct academic research and interpret scientific data.
These objectives have been established in alignment with the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ) and the university’s strategic objectives.

Admission Requirements
Cyprus Aydın University admits Turkish citizens who have graduated from secondary schools or equivalent institutions via the central entrance examination administered by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM).
International students who have graduated from secondary schools or equivalent institutions are eligible to apply directly to KAUN provided they meet the admission criteria. These criteria include scores from internationally recognised examinations (e.g., SAT, GCE, IB) or university entrance examinations from certain countries.

Neurological, Orthopaedic and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Laboratory
The Neurological, Orthopaedic and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Laboratory is a comprehensive educational environment designed to enable students to develop their knowledge and skills in various rehabilitation fields through practical application. In this laboratory, assessment and treatment approaches for neurological, musculoskeletal and cardiopulmonary conditions are taught through practical application.
The laboratory features dedicated areas for balance and coordination training, parallel bars for gait training, exercise equipment, and devices for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. In this environment, students acquire the ability to plan and implement rehabilitation programmes tailored to different patient scenarios.
Designed to reflect a real clinical environment, the laboratory is supported by modern equipment and educational materials. This space, which provides a safe and controlled learning environment, helps students enhance their professional competence whilst also contributing to the development of a patient-centred approach.

A Multidisciplinary Approach to Diabetes: Diabetes Awareness from the Perspectives of Nursing and Physiotherapy
Future healthcare professionals took to the stage to highlight the importance of awareness in the fight against diabetes. Students from the Nursing and Physiotherapy departments organised an event where they addressed diabetes from a multidisciplinary perspective, offering participants an educational experience filled with informative presentations, interactive discussions and healthy living tips.
Exercise Festival for Health 2
Hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences at Cyprus Aydın University, the Health Exercise Festival 2 took place with students’ practical presentations and active participation. The event highlighted the positive effects of physical activity on health, whilst offering participants a dynamic and educational experience through awareness-raising activities and interactive sessions.
