General Information
The English Language Teaching Programme is a four-year undergraduate programme run by the Faculty of Education at Cyprus Aydın University. The programme is taught in English, and the curriculum is structured to include subject-specific knowledge, pedagogical training and practice-based modules.
The programme operates under the Faculty of Education and is delivered in accordance with the framework established by national higher education legislation governing teacher training. Academic and practical processes are carried out in collaboration with faculty departments and relevant educational institutions.
Message from the Programme Director
The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in English Language Teaching, run by the Faculty of Education at Cyprus Aydın University, aims to train English teachers who possess strong subject knowledge, advanced pedagogical skills and an understanding of contemporary educational approaches. It is recognised that proficiency in a foreign language has become an essential requirement in individuals’ academic and professional lives; accordingly, our programme prioritises the development of language skills and teaching competencies through a holistic and practice-based approach.
Throughout the programme, students are provided with a solid theoretical foundation in linguistics, literature and culture; practical training is offered in professional areas such as teaching methods and techniques, assessment and evaluation, classroom management and educational technologies. Through school experience and teaching practice courses, students are given the opportunity to gain experience in real educational settings, and their development into professionals ready for the profession is supported.
Our department adheres to the principles of quality assurance and continuous improvement; educational processes are regularly evaluated to maintain an academic structure aligned with national and international standards. The aim is to train teachers who can use English effectively, possess high intercultural awareness, think critically, and have a strong sense of ethical responsibility.

The primary aim of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in English Language Teaching is to train teachers who can use English effectively, are proficient in contemporary methods and techniques of language teaching, and possess well-developed pedagogical and professional competencies. The programme has been structured in accordance with the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ) and the educational objectives of Cyprus Aydın University.

Admission Requirements
Cyprus Aydın University admits Turkish citizens who have graduated from secondary schools or equivalent institutions via the central entrance examination administered by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM).
International students who have graduated from secondary schools or equivalent institutions are eligible to apply directly to KAU provided they meet the admission criteria. These criteria include scores from internationally recognised examinations (e.g., SAT, GCE, IB) or university entrance examinations from certain countries.
