Message from the Programme Director

Welcome to the Bachelor’s Programme in Banking and Finance, where rigorous academic foundations meet the realities of the rapidly evolving world of finance.
Today’s finance is global, digital and deeply interconnected with technology, sustainability and society. Our programme has been designed with this reality in mind. We aim to cultivate not only competent professionals, but also ethical decision-makers and forward-thinking leaders who can manage uncertainty, control risk and create value within complex financial systems.
Our curriculum blends theory with practice. Core courses in banking, finance, economics and quantitative methods are complemented by applied learning through case studies, simulations, internships and industry projects. Students develop a practical understanding of financial markets, institutions and regulations whilst acquiring strong analytical skills. We place particular emphasis on critical thinking, data literacy and adaptability—skills essential in the age of fintech, digital banking and global volatility.
Equally important, we believe that banking and finance should serve society. Issues such as financial stability, inclusivity, sustainability and ethical governance are an integral part of our teaching and research. We encourage our students to question, innovate responsibly and understand the broader implications of financial decisions.
Our teaching staff consists of experienced academics and practitioners dedicated to guiding students and supporting their personal and professional development. Graduates of this programme are well-prepared for careers in banking, financial services, corporate finance, and public sector organisations, or for further academic study.

I invite you to join us in shaping the future of banking and finance with knowledge, integrity and vision.

Dr Shahrzad Safaeimanesh, Lecturer
