Our university participated at the academic representation level in the II. EGCON Gastronomy Congress held in Hatay. At the congress, where innovative approaches in gastronomy, cultural heritage, and an experience-oriented culinary understanding were discussed, Cyprus Aydın University was represented by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Rukiye Kilili and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuğrul Günay.
The congress, which brought together representatives from academia and the industry, featured important discussions on current developments and sustainable approaches regarding the future of gastronomy. During the sessions attended by experts in the field, emphasis was placed on the development of gastronomy education, the preservation of local culinary cultures, and the importance of collaboration between universities and the industry.
Within the scope of the congress, our university representatives also met with Prof. Dr. Hilmi Rafet Yüncü, Chairman of the Board of the Gastronomy Research Association (GADER), and exchanged views on gastronomy education, sectoral collaborations, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
